Flattop

For folk, bluegrass, rock, finger picking or flat picking, the flat top steel string guitar has been the choice for generations. Whether around a campfire, on stage or in the recording studio, the flat top is at home. The designs of my flat top guitars are influenced by some of the most worthy guitars in history. All of my steel string acoustic guitars use a traditional dovetail neck/body joint, scalloped bracing, and the soundboard is tap tuned to bring out the woods' potential.

The Grand Concert

Also referred to as an OM or Orchestral Model, the Grand Concert has a well balanced sound and it has a somewhat punchy sound due to the longer scale length of 25.4". It can be made with 12 frets to the body but it is almost always a 14 fret guitar. This size guitar has been a standard in music for decades and it's popularity is steadfast. The smaller body size can be more comfortable for some.

The OOO

The 000 and the Grand Concert (or OM) are sometimes hard to distinguish. They may even have the same body design. The main difference is the scale length. The 000 has a 24.9" scale length. This shorter scale gives the guitar a sweeter sound. There are two body shapes associated with the 000. One was designed for a 12 fret model and the other was designed for the 14 fret model. This historic designs' popularity is rebounding but finger pickers have always enjoyed the sweet clear sound of the 000.

The Dreadnought

The Dreadnought is probably the most popular acoustic guitar in the world today. It has a deep full sound that many singer songwriters love. This is a great guitar for accompanying other acoustic instruments or vocals. For strumming or flat picking this is a great guitar design.

Classical

With its warm soft tones, the sound of nylon strings has captured the imagination of great musicians by their remarkable ability of projecting passion in all of its nuances. I have chosen a design that is respected by great players of many generations. It uses a traditional fan bracing and time honored methods of construction, including the use of hide glue and the process of hand bending of the sides and linings.
